The hotel was in a fantastic location, right beside St Baaf's Cathedral and (therefore) the Belfort. We were using Ghent as a base to explore West Flanders by train and there was an excellent tram link from near the hotel to Sint Pieters station. The room was small but had everything I needed - the 'cube' adaptor was very handy! The room faced into a courtyard and was, therefore, very quiet - the only time I heard the Cathedral bells was when they had a mad spell for 15 minutes at 0830 every morning! No tram noise whatsoever. The staff at reception were SUPERB - so helpful, going out of their way to make our stay in Ghent a happy one. The hotel bar had a good range of Belgian beers and, once again, the bar staff were excellent.

The location is perfect to explore Gent; they even offer a parking (€26/night) which we easily reserved beforehand via the booking.com messaging tool. The response was insanely quick! Upon arrival we were allowed to check in a bit earlier (around 2PM) which was most welcome after a 6 hour drive. The room was basic but had everything you need; clever usage of the small space. Our plug sockets unfortunately didn’t work so only had use of 1 working one near the bathroom. Breakfast was really nice; had everything you needed to start your day.

This hotel is in the perfect location. The breakfast was excellent, our room had a wonderful view and was very clean. All of the staff were so friendly. Charlie & Rebecca were particularly helpful when our flight home was cancelled and helped arrange further accommodation. Another man (also named Charlie) in the bar was super friendly as were the ladies who ran the breakfast room. Thanks for everything! We loved staying here.

The location couldn't be better, as it was right across from Saint-Bavo's Square and Sint-Baafs Cathedral. It was also two blocks from the tram we took from the train station. Also, the breakfast selections were outstanding and the seating area looked out on the square. Finally, the room was contemporary/modern, large with a separate seating area, desk, lights for each side of the bed, and a 'closet' with a place to hang clothes.

Meri

On check in staff extremely friendly helpful . Room was exceptional clean with comp water and cookies. Key card was great . You could only use lift and public toilets with it .very safe . We went to bar for food and there the girl was so helpful. During our stay we were very helpful staff . We hadn't in used ibis in about 15 years but now it will be our first choice for city breaks .
